Project86s Build update aka Frankenstein
Hey guys!!
Years ago I started my build and posted my first ever pictures of the truck! Back then it was an 81 Silverado with power everything and AC! Well the years have gone by and wanting a nicer truck I've decided to put some work into it the last couple years. After realizing the 81 cab was too far gone. I ended up buying a 86 donor truck. Did a cab and bed swap and now it's registered as an 86. After getting everything on, a while later I decided to get a 89 suburban front end and I got it for a killer deal! Then fast forward ANOTHER year and I finally decided to get it all one color and for a local even here on the coast I slapped some 15x10 prostars nd 325 drag radials Well, needless to say numerous burnouts, and my lead foot led to a spun rod bearing and second gear gone in the stock th350. So ever since 2015 I've been doing little by little and slowly getting it to where I want! It's been a long road and money's been tight but I'll just cut to the chase and post some more pictures for y'all! |

In the engine compartment I stripped pretty much everything I could. No more power steering. Deleted the heater box. Smoothed the firewall, and even removed my MC to go to manual brakes

Next I decided to tackle the rear. Originally I wanted to go backhalf but that plan may change for the time being. Luckily a friend of mine had some nice big tires I could test fit to see any issues. Granted the backspace isn't what i need. It gave me some ideas and we may go with a ladder bar coilover setup

Re: Project86s Build update aka Frankenstein
Am here are some pictures as of the last couple months.
We replaced both inner/outer rockers. As well as both can corners. I shaved the turn signals on the fenders as well as the antennae. Bed stale pockets have been shaved. Fuel door as well as side view mirrors too! Finally got at least 90% bodywork done. But I'm focusing on the interior for now as I wanted that painted before we start ordering the stuff for the roll cage |
