Wolf's head SYN ATF
Im going to service the trans in my 87 , 700R4. I have a case of Wolf Head SYN fluid. Im sure it has conventional DEX III in it now. Will there be any problems adding the SYN to the conventional that is in the torque converter and what else that wont drain? Thanks in advance

Re: Wolf's head SYN ATF
If you drain the pan and then wait a day or two, the converter will probably drain back into the pan. Provided you have some other way to get around for that time...

Simply because or do you have actual reasons? OP- Just like with engine oil, you can mix conventional and synthetic to your hearts content. You can switch back and forth, you can do 90% reg with 10% synthetic or the other way around, whatever. It doesn't matter.

Re: Wolf's head SYN ATF
ive seen it on high mileage cars & trucks -tranny works good -owner thinks it should be changed ? all the old dextron stuff dont get out ! the synthetic wont mix with the old dextron & work right ??? plus the tranny is worn a little ? & synthetic is very slippery -good stuff but it has its place i would just drain the pan & change filter -possibly drain the converter ? & refill with the stock dextron stuff ! if you had a truck that had synthetic in it -no problem - its your truck -do what you want to do !
