1962 C60 Grain Truck Clutch
We have a '62 C60 grain truck. We have replaced the master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder. Brakes work great but the clutch slave cylinder doesn't extend at all until the clutch about 1-2" from the floor. When it does move it only moves maybe 3/4" - 1". Not anywhere enough to release the clutch. We have bleed the line and no bubbles come out. It is a solid stream. The slave to clutch linkage free play is adjust about as tight as I would want it to be, maybe tighter. It is at most 1/4" anymore and the throw out bearing will be engaged. We have adjusted the rod from the clutch pedal to the master cylinder as far as it will go and stay threaded in the pedal. Any ideas. I purchased these parts from partsgeek.com. Nothing else has been changed.

Re: 1962 C60 Grain Truck Clutch
First check if you have the right Slave Cylinder. See Parts Book 0.780 for your application. There is Note 1 about possibly having to use Rod # 3813987.
Second, check if you have the right Master Cylinder. See Group 0.775. It sounds like the master is not moving enough fluid to extend the slave enough. The pushrod length/adjustment could cause that or incorrect bore size(s) could do it also. |

Re: 1962 C60 Grain Truck Clutch
Sorry not making out what those pages mean. I just realized that I didn't put the part numbers from partsgeek.com in my post. Here they are:
Master Cylinder P/N: 13-34404 Clutch Slave P/N: CS36124 Not sure how to cross reference those to the GM part numbers you have. |
