Looking for THE Serpentine belt set up

Hey All,

What are some serpentine belt setups that you have used or heard of other people using on our trucks? I know I can hop on eBay and buy a kit for 1000-2500 but would really like to find something cheaper that works well. I have seen guys use stock set-ups off newer trucks..... but have no info on these. I for sure want one with an AC compressor.

I yanked mine from the yard off a 94 gmc jimmy. Bolts up perfectly. The AC compressor was for an A6 pancake style.

Not sure what your engine is, but I had to source a serpentine setup for my SBC 350. After gathering part from various places, I realized I could just search for 5.7l v8 serpentine on ebay and people sell the whole shebang for like $250

X2 - '95 burb TBI setup. (Same as 72tutone's)
Since the pics I've installed the radiator. The stock '71 upper & lower hoses fit. Also, you can pull the valve covers without removing brackets.

Be prepared to bog your machine down bigtime if you click on that second facebook link. It's one of those never-ending web pages that just keeps on loading as you keep on scrolling. It got to nearly 1 GB of memory use and 100%CPU ( only 1 thread thankfully! ) as I got only down to September ( two months worth of posts ) before I killed it. Too much crap on there with all the video and add content that loads and runs without my consent!

Just sayin'

The pulley systems are dang cool though. I'd go for the 2" belt one but I've got too little room between the BBC and the radiator!

there are almost always some factory serpentine set-ups on ebay........they may not look as good...but .they work as good as anything out there...

If going the junkyard route, don't overlook trucks with 4.3s. I got my setup from a 92 Sonoma, and it's exactly the same as B.W.'s. I think I paid $100 out the door for brackets ( with a/c delete idler ), pulleys, p/s pump, fan and hardware/braces. Bought the water pump new.

The S-10 setups for the 4.3 are almost the same as the late 89[to early 90] C truck to 95. after that is the Vortec style and it put the alt on pass side and ac on drivers, but it will work well too.v also the TBI astro vans will have the same thing too.
Make sure you use a fan and water pump off the 90-95 truck too cause they turn backwards.
Now you could use a 88-89 bracket but it is steel and is not pleasing to the eye like the 90-95.
The bracket will bolt right up as well as the pulley on the bottom bolting on to the balancer. Great upgrade. now if you want to use your old line just take out the pressure regulator from the back of the pump. It looks like a huge nut. Just swap it out and use your old line. It is just that simple

Don't forget to take all the mounting hardware(bolts). Some are metric and some standard. But hard to find just the same. And you we'll need to pull the power steering pulley to get the mount off on the drivers side. Hidden bolts in that area. Ask me how I found out. Particularly the hardware. And I live in a major city. Good luck.
