how much should I narrow my rear axle?
I'm planning on running 24 x 12 inch wheels in the rear. I'm trying to figure out how much I should narrow the rear axle. I saw on here one time a "famous" orange and white standard cab bagged square that was owned by some brothers I think; the other had a light blue / white square. The orange one had 12 inch wide rear wheels. I liked the offset. One of his threads on here stated how much he'd narrowed the rear axle but I cannot seem to find the post. I believe it was 4 inches on each side.
Any thoughts from anyone? Also, anybody know where I might get a rear axle narrowed in the Baldwin County / Mobile County Alabama area?

Re: how much should I narrow my rear axle?
how much will depend on your backspacing/tire width/clearance...it would be best to get the tires and rims you want and stick them under the truck, allow for suspension travel and rub clearance and measure wms to wms...that vs. your current axle width is how much you'll need to remove
I've narrowed axles before without a jig but its waaay better to find someone that has a jig for it..

Man, that's it! I knew it was something like that but I just couldn't remember.
Thank you.
