Widest tire on a 15x6?

I'm building a sleeper out of my 71, so I want to keep my stock junky white steelies. I love how 255/70s look, but it seems like I might have to step up to 15x8 for those.

Anybody have 15x6s with wider than 235 tires? What size and how is it working out?

You can use 235/75's with no issues as that is what was on the trucks when new on a 6 inch rim.

I agree on a 6" rim you are 235 70 or 75 about the widest to get a good footprint on the ground...
