Fuel Pump (BBC) for a Quadrajet - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Looking for advice on a mechanical fuel pump with a PSI low enough for the quadrajet. Previously had a AC DELCO 40727, 7.5-9psi was far too high for the QJet. Input?

*Relevant info
Truck: 1969 K10 (Manual)
Engine: 1977 (Mark IV) 454
Carburetor: 1973 R4-4MV Rochester Quadrajet

Edelbrock has a 6 psi one.

I have had two C20s with 454 and qjets and replaced the fuel pumps with auto parts store brands. I did not know that there was a particular problem with the fuel pump pressure.

Sometimes there is.
I’ve had one that put out 9 psi.

I have never had a parts store pump put out more than 5 psi. I hope I can find one of these high pressure pumps when I build my Camaro.

Drive the parts guy crazy!
Ask for one for a 1962 Pontiac 421 super duty.
They were rated at 11 psi.

Why not install an adjustable pressure regulator? You can tune it to what your engine needs.
