1976 C30/C35 Steering Box upgrade
Before I purchase a generic Rockauto replacement steering box for my '76 C35, I want to ensure there isn't a special box that is better than all the others in some form or fashion.
Am I good to proceed or anyone have some insight? thanks!

Most seem to agree that the redheads are good quality. Considering doing the same on my 70

Re: 1976 C30/C35 Steering Box upgrade
Are there other year boxes that are better than earlier boxes?
What about fittings? I'm using a late model GM engine with o-ring fittings. So should I go for a later box?

If your steering box is pristine you can use AN fittings or make up some hybrid hoses.

I need a box. So I rather get the 'correct' one.

Go with the CPP box. It is more expensive than original but all new parts(even the case) and has a closer ratio. I love mine!

I had to order the 15:1 ratio and I need the newer style o-ring fittings to fit my duramax lines. Needed the ratio so my steering wheel sensor won't freak out. They also worked with me to get the right valve in it so it feels right. We'll see...
