Re: Build sheet ?

The noun names can vary a little bit depending on how they were typed into the plant database; the RPO designation is what matters.

Re: Build sheet ?

Just wondering what came stock.
Anybody know what 3 spd sync trans would stand for?

3 on the tree?
3 spd automatic?

Re: Build sheet ?

Edited because I was wrong initially: M17 is the Muncie four speed with a 3.31 1st gear, as shown in the table above!

Re: Build sheet ?

I think the confusion lies in the fact that the table says M17 is a 4-speed. If your truck has a manual shift column, then it was likely originally a 3OTT.

RPO codes also get re-used, so it is best if the reference list is from the same timeframe as the subject vehicle. I should have caught that in my first response.

Yes glove box says M17 3 spd sync

My column is auto and the truck has 3 speed floor shift.

Trying to find out if the trans is stock.

Then - no - it's not stock.

"M17 3 spd sync" is a manual trans, column shifted. No floor shifted three speed trans was available.

The automatic trans column is also a more recent addition. Sounds like you have an assortment of mis-matched parts.

Re: Build sheet ?

Humm so the trans may be the stock 3 speed with aftermarket Hurst floor shift. And the column is definitely from another truck.
