17" (Dodge) wheel and tire combo for lowered ('68) C20 ?
Wondering if anyone else has used the Dodge 2500 (8-lug) wheels and what tires they ran. (Also wondering what the hub diameter is for the C20?)
In my case, the truck is a '68 C20 that I plan to lower (POL 2.5" drop spindles in front, 4" drop coils in rear) I'm currently looking at these Dodge 17x8" wheels; 8x6.5 lug pattern; 4.75" hub bore. Offset is listed at 1.7" ,so that would be a backspace of (4.0+1.7) 5.7. Not sure if that needs to be less but I'll use a spacer if needed. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know. A common tire size (275/55-17) looks like it would work since it's tad shorter than the stock tire, but if I could I would go a tad larger in diameter. (Calculator here: https://tiresize.com/calculator/) As a comparison, a common 16" tire 265/75/16 has a sidewall of 7.8", Width 10.4" and Diameter of 31.6".
