1970 C10 M20 Tranny
For my 1970 C10 I have 396 BB (built in Tonawanda) from a Chevelle.
Would a Muncie M20 with a casting of 3925661 fit? 26 Spline input shaft, 32 Spline output. Date code is E24 built in 1970. |

Fit?
Not sure what you are asking.. A friend of mine had a M20 in a 66 C10 LWB 2WD behind a strong 400 small block, had 3.42 gear. Performance was Awesome!!! Engine builder that built engine, and that installed the transmission was some what concerned with the heavy weight of the pickup and the power of the engine that the strength of the transmission was borderline. It had zero problems, my buddy knew how to drive that thing, without abusing it. Modifications were needed to make everything work. I have no details though, I was not there for install... |
