Aluminum Polish

Mothers or Blue Magic or ???

Blue magic works better I think

30 years ago never dull worked real good but last I remember that stuff is junk cause they changed the formula 30 years ago.

What ya like for polishing up your aluminum rims?

Why are they better? .....Do you use a power ball buffer or just by hand?

Seems like since they are designed for silverware type stuff they would not work as good.

Do they have more of a acidic chemical or something in them that dioxides and polishes better with less effort?

Took me about 30 year to find the best , and I have used them all, hands down BUSCH aluminum polish is the best , but go ahead and waste your time its not my hands doing your polishing . have fun

You guys need to try Metal Wax. Got turned on to it several years ago by a guy that works on aircraft. Works really good. Collinite metal wax.

I second Jrainman, his comment prompted me to try it and man it's a great product. Used mother's and this stuff blows that mother into the corner.

California Customs Purple is the best I have found. Get a bottle of the green oxidizer also. Use the green once a year. Five minutes a wheel after you get them in shape and they shine better each time you go over them. I never have used the Bush but have tried about every thing else.

I noticed mothers, blue magic , neverdull dont work nearly as good as the used to 20 30 years ago(I wont even bother buying tat junk anymore) you dont get much black anymore, like they took the good stuff out of the bottle, maybe because of new pollution type laws or maybe hazardest to your health BS

I found out something about Never Dull. From what I was told Never Dull was made by a Company that made a aluminum wheel cleaner called Xtreem. I used it for a while and it worked as well as the purple but it was a pink rope that took only a couple inches to do a wheel. Your fingers and nails would be filth when finished. I was some good working stuff tho. I don't think you can get it any more. I could go on and on about aluminum wheel cleaners. Truck stops are a very good place to look.

Wenol, flitz, Etc,etc, are usually pink in color and smell like ammonia. The cheapest of these and readily available is 3m metal polish in a black plastic tub, about $13 for 10 ounces if i remember correctly. My tub is packed away in another town right now.

I've dabbled in clock repairs and submerging brass in an ammoniated liquid cleaner makes it look new, and i think the ammonia is doing an ion exchange on aluminum and brass, not sure though.
