Injectors

So my harness nightmare continues from shop I got package from. They sent me a harness that obviously was not to engine as injector plugs don't match them. There solution is to send me different injectors. Is there any problems with just swapping out injectors?

Re: Injectors

Injector height, different flows will also require the computer to be flashed for proper scaling. I think if the computer isn’t flashed it will run like crap. You can’t just ask for a refund and go elsewhere? I would be upset from the sounds of all your troubles

Re: Injectors

I'm frustrated with myself. I could have done a harness myself and find an engine and saved money....or get one from a more reputable place that offers a warranty as well. The computer has been flashed...but I am going to clean this greasy harness and hope for the best. Correct Injectors are being sent today...we'll see.

Re: Injectors

You must have a flex fuel engine since that is a non flex fuel harness you showed a pic of. The problem is you dont know what tune you have, is it flex or not? Like the other guy said, there are differences. You're most likley going to need a good live tune to be done when you finish it up so you know its right.

Re: Injectors

The place I got the package from is tuning everything appropriately. They sent me a wrong harness the first time...a drive by wire...just sent me the wrong box. Then sent me this one, but obviously with injector plugs not matching, there's no way its the engines original harness. Why they are not sending the engines actual harness...who knows.

LS1nova, so you are saying that if the tune is for a FLEX fuel engine, and this harness is not a flex fuel, but injectors are going to be swapped to non flex injectors...I'm going to have problems??..

Flex fuel injectors are taller than regular (non-flex-fuel) injectors. The fuel rails (and pressure regulator if you have the return style fuel rail) are different. Unfortunately, you can't just swap injectors by themselves.

Re: Injectors

Also flex fuel injectors flow at a higher rate, that is what I have on mine.
Part # 25326903
I didn’t know I had a flex engine until I got in to the harness and injectiors, and my time guy wanted to know what I had for the tune.

you best bet would be to find a complete used intake like you need and swap it.

Re: Injectors

Need any more conformation? Flex on bottom, regular on top. Although it may be a year thing because I was thinking the older ones with the plastic fuel rail were the same, but dont have one to compare at the moment.

Re: Injectors

I would have them get you the correct harness rather than trying to change the injectors, rail, regulator, etc......

I'm sorry, but the answer is still no.

Here's a thread with pictures that show that the regular injector won't even seat in an intake with flex fuel rails (because the injector is shorter).

From what I've read, its best to pretty much ignore what they've said...as most of its been contradicted or corrected here. Ask them for the correct harness in full. Or a refund at this point.

Re: Injectors

In response to nova...I do have the plastic rails. Maybe because it's older rail...both style of injectors fit? I received them LATE yesterday so I will find out shortly IF THIS is true.

Big thanks to everyone helping out....best forum out there.

I just dug out my older plastic flex fuel rails, and they're ever so slightly different than the non flex rails and the injectors in them are about 1/4"taller than the non flex injectors too. So I'm going to say it isn't going to work.
