Who to Go To For Weather Stripping?
Need some help with who makes the best sealing/fitting window weather rubber for our Sub's. Mine is going into paint in a few weeks and I'd like to replace all of the rubber around all of the windows...
Thanks in advance!! |

Re: Who to Go To For Weather Stripping?
I used Precision Rubber for mine. All except the fixed quarter windows in the 3rd door and the drivers side false door. They were in the process of redesigning the mould and were unavailable when I needed them. I was able to reuse old ones. (Thanks again to Richard2717. You are the man! ) I believe the new ones are available now. I'm pretty sure Hart_Rod used them on the Superburb build. I have some tips on the installation of them in the first 5-6 pages of the WMB thread below.

Re: Who to Go To For Weather Stripping?
Now that you mention it, I think I remember seeing a thread where Hart_Rod was helping with the molds or something similar. I'll check out Precision and your thread for those tips. While searching around, I bumped into "Steel Rubber Products". They have almost every piece of rubber for the windows. Any feedback on them and their products?
Thanks! |

Re: Who to Go To For Weather Stripping?
Hey thanks...
On the weather stripping they do have, Precision is considerably cheaper than Steel Rubber - Any of you have experience with both that would explain the price difference? |

Re: Who to Go To For Weather Stripping?
Thanks and good to know about Steel Rubber!
I found this amazing online catalog. "Truck and Cars .com" http://www.truckandcarshop.com/6072.html I've gone through the catalog and it has to be one of the more complete inventories I've seen. (But I'm still learning as I go on these 3 dr Suburbans!) You can click "Order Online" at the top and every line item is linked to the store. Any one have experience with this outfit and the weather strips they sell? |

I called Precision and they are sending me two of the new design sets to replace the bad ones.... To keep with the theme of this thread that is pretty good customer service, seeing as how I have had them since 2012. I would def. buy their products again. LockDoc
