800 bucks is an awful lot of money for new lower bushings hell 200 woulda been a more fair price it aint that much work if you got the tools thedealership does

$800 in labor is over 10 hrs shop time. thats nuts.
if your cousin is the parts manager why didn't he get the tech to do the work on the side and save you some money $$$.

if your worried about putting the bushings in, just take the lower control arms off and take them to a suspension shop and have the bushings pressed in or put in with and air hammer.
i had some done this way when i was broke and in high school with no major tools and it cost me like $20 cash to have the upper bushings put in. i pressed the lower ones in using the press at the auto parts store.

hmmmm i found that upper and lower a arms are very easy to do. u just need to rent a spring compressor and have lots of liquid wrench or that pb blaster, and some wrenches n sockets. my lower a arms are off of a 77 gmc 2500, just find the nesissary parts have him press the bushings in perferably polyurathane and put them on yourself. i did both sides by myself on mine and i found it to be quite easy. you might find that if your doin that much you'll want to replace tie rods and the pitman arm and anything else that is bent or damaged. i did all mine for under 200.

Now I remember why I taught myself how to work on vehicles. It's like putting money in the bank. You know the saying, a penny saved is a penny earned? At the rate they were planning on charging you, I should be rich.
