Saw an ad off CL, $1200! Couldn't beat it. Rented a U-Haul, 10PM set out to find the house where cells phone service was non existence. Two friends pounding beers, me (sober) driving laughing at their drunken stories. Took all four (owner) to push the C10 on the trailer, transmission was done for. Parked the C10 at a buddies place for about a year. One night, he calls and says: get this pile of metal off my property! HA! That night, she finally ended up in my garage.

Plans: new paint job (NEVER!!), LS, bagged, C4 rear end IRS, Porterbuilt, Engine bay clean as efff, interior I would like it to look fresh as well, and T56 trans.



Pulled the LS from the yard, actually before I bought the truck. Went to the carwash and the bad news is coming...



There's at least 5,000,000,000, swaps now days so this image is nothing new.



Finally got her in the garage, after about 1 year. *My buddy likes to ruin the shots on purpose*



Long-bed barley fits!



Stinking bolts! Took me all day to grind, cut, hammer and cuss to get this bed loose.



My pops helped me get the bed off



The tape on the floor was helping know where the LWB wheels sit.

I guess there's a couple of ways to shorten the long bed, I chose this route, worked for me. The rivets took the longest time getting off. I should've went to Harbor freight and bought a air chisel.



I know people do the fish plate if you "Z" the frame. Before everyone with a keyboard starts in with comments. I cut plates for the top/bottom for the inside of the frame. Then I did the same on the outside of frame.



Tear down starts. Buddy helped me rip everything out of the cab. The seat cushion was of course destroyed. Power washed the cab as best that I could. Next photo is interesting...

Funny story about the small block. I asked my neighbor if he would like to have the engine. We pulled it, gave it to him for FREE! Two weeks later I show up at my house and the engine is in my driveway!!! Yup, said he's moving and can't take it with him...



My lift showed up and I was figuring out the distance for the post.

These clecos saved so much time!! As you can see, I purchased the floor board.



I really didn't think it would be this bad...



Said effff it and cut the floor out.

Tons of work to do. I will say for anyone doing this, it was easier to flip the cab on its back. That way you can knock out everything at once. Well, everything except the cab corners. I did replace mine. Couldn't find any photos.

This was a MUTHA to do by myself!

My lovely girlfriend was helping in the process, cutting the floorboard so I can spend a few hours under the hood.



Finished up. The driver side went way faster than passenger, only because I somewhat knew what to do. The fender in this photo is me checking the fitment.

I took a couples of moths to really think about the direction I wanted the cab to go. The one hangup I was having is the firewall. I was thinking of replacing the wire gutter which is rusted pretty bad. Saw a couple of builds with the firewall shaved. Thought to myself: well I don't like the way mine looks so wheres my grinder and some IPA's...



I started this route just see how the firewall would look. To be straight forward, this was a wasted of time.



Cut, grind, and weld. Waste of time over thinking things, sometimes ya gotta grab that grinder and see what happens.



It took a while on the bottom section of the firewall/floorboard. I wanted to make sure that sheet metal would sit flush, and not at an angle.



Bought a piece of sheet metal and this part was a little tough only because I didn't want a winkle in the metal or kink the middle every time I was taking on/off.



Filled the throttle cable and gas pedal holes. The gas pedal holes might bite me in the butt later on. Also sprayed inside the vent on the passenger side. Fixed all the rust I could see.



I used clecos to hold up the sheet metal and basically trimmed the sheet metal to the cab. It took more time undoing the clecos to double check the trim. Well worth it though.



Firewall finished! Welded the sheet metal to the cab, it took a while hopping on different sides on the truck.



Primed, I was really happy at this point.





Super happy with outcome, but of course I couldn't see what it looked like on the truck. So I woke up early the next day and...



Had to stick the truck back on the lift and get that cab back on!!!

Trying to figure out the best option for what I need for my C10. (first photo) Seen a member use one on of these on his truck. Not too much fab work involved, wondering about the space once the A/C is installed under the dash as well. (second photo) Although I feel the reverse mount Wilwood master & clutch setup is killer. C4 Rear suspension, purchased off eBay. Before I decided to go with an IRS I spent countless hours on the net trying to figure out the best option. There's a few members on here that have installed an IRS, thought: well, lets just see...

I've seen a few photos around of people powder coating the entire IRS. Not sure if I want to go that route.

I will say this, it was super difficult trying to move a rear-end around by myself! HA! At this point I can see, for me to get the rocket to lay out, I'll have to weld in a C-notch.

Finally she's laid out. So, I bought these C-Notches a while back when I was going to a bag over axel and call it a day. So I used them as mock up.

The rocker is laid out. Also I purchased a body drop kit off CL (Porter Built) pretty siked on that score.

So i know that the C-Notch is a monster notch, but I'm buying the Ridetec Bag-Struts for the rear. I look at the measurements off the there site, the bags are 6" in dia. What I should've done here is buy the bags first. $1,000 is a stretch!!

C-Notch done, after tons of hours of cutting, welding, and metal-finishing. I'm going to brace each section that is welded. Here you can see how the bag-strut will mount to the lower shock mount on the C4 IRS. I'll build a top bag mount once I order them biscuits.

I had to purchase wheel adopters to the 6 lug transit wheels.

Pretty siked at this point, only things missing: the Ridetec bags, boxing in the frame rails, and rear end mounts.

Built some IRS mounts (TOOOOOOO big!) I went back and shaved a bunch off. I'll post a pic of that later. Also mounted the front of the rear end in.

A friend told me about a metal shop that sales metal by the LBs!! Went and loaded up tons for the boxing of the frame.

I'm going to have to remove this bracing tube for the rear mounted fuel tank. Going with 59 chevy car tank.

Bought an Eastwood plasma ages ago, decided to fire that biscuit up to get all the pieces after the c-notch cut out.
