Engine mounts
Hi folks:
I need to replace the engine mounts, but I saw the prices start at $8.00 each and iI saw others that cost up to $49.00 each. Any suggestions? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Engine mounts
what year, what engine?
for what it's worth I wouldn't expect much out of an $8.00 part. Remember that the labor is the same to put good parts in |

Re: Engine mounts
KP Jon has a good point, never thought of it that way.
Bought mine from O'Riley's, and as I recall, it was a ROYAL PAIN the get the bolts to thread in without cross-threading! So far so good after years of use, but I usually don't thrash on the drivetrain either. ETA: Whatever mounts you decide to get, be sure to remove any excess rubber that may have oozed into the mounting bolt hole during the manufacturing process. Then maybe test to be sure the main center bolt threads in easily...(and has the correct thread pitch) Saw that on a thread here recently. I didn't think to look at that during the time of install, and that may be why I had such a hard time with mine. Last edited by BRL; 06-09-2018 at 03:35 AM. |
