60-66 crew cab wheel base
Hello,
Anybody have wheel base specs for the Crew Cabs? Any other crew cab specs, like cab mounting dimensions? Thanks |

Re: 60-66 crew cab wheel base
I can only speak for my Ambruster Stageway Crew Cab. Most were built on a long bed chassis wheel base of 127" and had the bed cut down to a funny looking short bed. My 1966 Crew Cab had the frame extended by one foot and has a wheel base of 139" and had the bed cut down to an out of proportion 6.5 foot short bed. Not sure if they were ever made but a Crew Cab with a regular short bed (bed not cut) would have had a wheel base of 148.5". A long bed Crew Cab has a wheel base of 160.5".

Re: 60-66 crew cab wheel base
Like 66gilbert said, most were 127” WB.
If you need a crew, with full long bed, I can measure my dad’s.

Re: 60-66 crew cab wheel base
I have a 1994 K3500 Chevy Crew Cab 4x4 SWR, that I am going to replace next year with a newer 2006 or 07 K3500 Chevy Crew Cab 4x4 SWR.
Wanting to do a project Crew Truck in the mid 60's. My wheel base is 168.5" Thanks! |

Re: 60-66 crew cab wheel base
A '88 and up frame would not be my choice to mount a '60-'66 body. You are in for a LOT of work.

Re: 60-66 crew cab wheel base
Yes I understand that.
What I am thinking is to merge the two bodies together. Use the 94 cab on the inside, floorpan, firewall, roof and rear. Then fab the outer 64-66 "skin" to replace the 94 "skin". |

Clyde65 That would be great if you could measure your dad's Crew.
