WTB '72 402 orig hardline fuel pump to orig quadrajet

Another one, from classic ind. not even close, frustrating. Would like to buy an original quadrajet to fuel pump line for '72 swp 402 auto air. Condition unimportant, just need it to bend a new one that will actually fit. Thanks

Would a 350 fuel line be the same? I was planning to copy the 1 I have.

No, the 72 402 fuel line is unique and not reproduced. You need to locate an original.

How are the reproductions of the 68-71 hard fuel line?

Harry
I have a 72 402 longhorn sitting here. I will check to see if the original line is still on it. I don't want to sell it but I would be ok with letting you use for reproducing, if I can get it off. I assume you need pretty soon?

Richard

Scratch that Harry, someone cut the upper half to add an inline fuel filter and rubber hose.

That usually happens because the threaded boss inside those early Quadrajets are very fragile, and strip easily. My 68 was already toast when I bought it in 1980.

Re: WTB '72 402 orig hardline fuel pump to orig quadrajet

Yeah I had a perfectly good one on my truck a couple years ago and I was having some issues with the quadrajet running right. . .well my sisters boyfriend was around the weekend it was acting up. . guess what he did? went into oreillys and had me buy a holley to swap on. . not thinking anything of it besides well this will be nice to get it back on the road quick. I can rebuild the quadrajet later. . he mounted the holley on and I had to grab something from inside the house. . by the time I got back out. . he used a hack saw and cut the hard line so he could put a rubber hose onto it to make the fuel line easier to mount up to the holley!!!! Ahh!!! I was pretty irritated with him for a while. . I did also buy a line from classic tube. . and I can't get it to mount up to the fuel pump correctly without leaking. . I did have to bend the line with a tubing bender just to get it to go into the fuel pump hole also. still didn't fix the problem. So . . I know what you guys are talking about

the only thing I have yet to try. . and if someone has already tried it on here, please tell me your experience. . but I saw in a Hot Rod magazine a week ago. . an ad for this stuff called Seal Lock by Permatex . . can be used on fuel, coolant, power steering, brake systems, A.C. and plumbing connections. . I have not bought any yet and maybe its a waste of money.

Re: WTB '72 402 orig hardline fuel pump to orig quadrajet

ok, help me out here. I had an original line on my BB but bought inline tubes fuel pump to carb line. Asked if they wanted mine for a pattern but they said no, we have that one. So Inline won't work?
Posts on here make it sound like my SS line won't be right and I threw away a valuable part. Bends seemed to match, they're always just a touch longer. I guess I need to go test fit on rebuilt motor

Here's one from inline that's really not even close.

Richard, Thanks for trying, that's what I have now, cut top portion with rubber hose.

Gunner your pictures look correct, sure worth a try. Thanks
