Rear end question

I have a 63 GMC with a 10 bolt Dana rear and I was wanting to swap to a 12 bolt. So my question is will a 12 bolt out of a 68 C10 work in my Gmc? Thanks

Re: Rear end question

Your '63 GMC should have leaf springs and a '68 Chevy C10 should have coil springs with trailing arms. Any '63-'72 2wd truck 12 bolt can work if you remove the trailing arm mounts and weld on leaf spring perches and shock brackets. Or you can find a 12 bolt from '63-'79 K5 Blazer or K10 truck or Suburban and just bolt it in.
