Bed hardware 64 long step
I’m rebuilding a 64 longbed stepside bed . I have removed the steel floor that the previous owner installed , going back with wood . Does anyone have a detailed hardware list for a longstepper ? It looks like mostly 5/16” carriage bolts , are they all the same length ? I don’t have any of the original hardware so I don’t know what lengths to buy . Of course the hardware kits from LMC , etc don’t list the bolt specs . I think I can purchase SS bolts from Bolt Depot or a similar vendor cheaper than a hardware kit . I have the woodworking shop to mill the wood , test pieces came out perfect .
Thanks in advance ! |

Re: Bed hardware 64 long step
I believe the steppers all are 5/16. On my fleet, there was some 1/4 around the wheel wells.

Re: Bed hardware 64 long step
The original bed strips did not use carriage bolts but I believe the aftermarket strips do. I would suggest deciding on what strips you are going to use before purchasing hardware.
