Best replacement shocks?

I have a 1969 Chevy C-20 stock height with rear leaf springs.
I am looking for replacement shocks. I would like to use a monotube design but am having a hard time finding them. The only ones I see available specifically for that specific truck are KYB Monomax but those are very stiff. It is not used to haul heavy loads constantly or a work truck.
What are you using?

Re: Best replacement shocks?

I just picked up a set of Bilstein shocks for all four corners of my 70 1/2 ton Long box. Haven't had a chance to install them yet. I will give an update when I do. I did install Bilsteins all the way around my 13 Tahoe this summer. They were great! And the back replaced brand new oem units that only had 300 miles on them. Huge improvement.

Re: Best replacement shocks?

I used some Monroe HD shocks on my c20 way back...had as good of a tide as a 3/4 ton could have!
