Mustang II Control Arms
Looking at Mustang II style front suspension but I'm not a fan of how far the front wheels are tucked in. Does anyone make control arms that are wider or is that even possible? Thanks

JAKA, here's a link to ECI Brakes, http://ecihotrodbrakes.com/mustang_p...nversions.html they have kits for Mustang II spindles that, do not move from stock position, or move out 3/4" per side. I purchased the ones that move out 3/4" and like the position.

The truck I'm building is a 68 C10. Building it for drag racing and the occasional drive to work. Wanting to lose the heavy/bulky stock stuff for something to get it lower with better ground clearance and less weight.

Well, the MII stuff is the lightest common stuff around. But, base MII IFS track width is 56.5". You will want 62" to 64" for a C10. FatMan Fab or Scotts may be able to help, as they use these spindles on Truck suspensions But, do you trust Pinto spindles to land on or run 150 mph.
A MII IFS with coil-overs and a P/S rack and 11" brakes will weigh in around 180 lbs (from my notes, you may get a different answer from some manufacturers if they know it). Our No Limit WideRide IFS is a bolt in, has a 63" track width, 12" brakes, coil-over and P/S configuration comes in at 194 lbs. WideRide IFS uses a custom forged spindle (very close to GM 'B' body Impala). Swapping to a manual rack saves about 28 lbs total (rack, pump, pulley, hoses...) Swapping to a Wilwood 12.19 4 piston brake will cut 14 lbs from the WR-IFS. (about 8 from a MII) FYI, a stock C10 IFS complete assy with disc and P/S box weighs in around 330 lbs. Note: Wilwood brakes change the track width. On a WR-IFS, add 1" to the track width for Wilwood brakes, for a MII, add 3/4".
