K10 w/250 stock single exhaust question

I am restoring a '70 K10 and want to stay factory stock. Am not able to find the stock exhaust anywhere. Even my go to local "real auto parts store" with binders, books and phones could not locate one for me. LMC sells the complete system for 2WD trucks, but nothing for K10's. Has anyone modified one? I have the remnants of an exhaust on my truck now, and I think it was made for a 2WD as it hangs far too low. I don't know for sure, but my guess is the exhaust is supposed go above the cross member and not below. Is it possible just to take out some length out of the straight section of the down pipe and make the 2WD version work? Any help would be much appreciated!

You can just shorten the down pipe. The exhaust pipe should go above the cross member. Probably the easiest solution is an exhaust shop. Shouldn't cost much more than the kit, might even be less.
