Daily Drivers
Just curious how many members drive their trucks daily? I use mine every day, 84 miles a day if I just go to work and back. I try to do my upgrades on weekends as it's the only vehicle I own. Who out there racks up the most miles in our trucks?

Re: Daily Drivers
I used to drive mine daily. I bought Clyde in 89...and started the rebuild in 2010, he is a pleasure vehicle now. Almost show vehicle.

Re: Daily Drivers
I use mine as much as possible from spring to fall. I put it up after the first snow. 70 miles round trip to work plus 5-15 at lunch running errands. Engine and trans have just over 100k on them. been using it like this since 2014. Best mpg of anything I own. Averaging 18.2.

Re: Daily Drivers
Stock original 230 with Weber 2 barrel on a 1 barrel adapter from Langdons. HEI ignition. Original 3 on the tree. What helps the most is that the previous owner swapped out the 3.73's for 3.08's and I run 235/70/15 radials. Sux off the line but I drive mostly back roads and my speedometer app tells me I average 47 mph. I get my figures from fill ups. I use the same gas station and never top off the tank. 9 tanks averaged 18.173 which is my 18.2

Re: Daily Drivers
Spring, fall, summer I drive mine almost daily unless it's over 100deg outside. But I also only work 5 miles from work, but I take the kids to school and everything in it.

Re: Daily Drivers
Mine is a sometimes daily driver. I daily drove it for a year during high school, even though it was burning a crap ton of oil. Now that I have a fresh engine, I can drive it whenever, but since my house is within walking distance to campus, I don't drive that much

Re: Daily Drivers
Thanks, a friend gave me the 63 grill and I just liked the way it looked. The cam is a 108 lsa its a small circle track cam with low lift making it easier on valve train. Mine has a little "chop" to it but yours will sound really good with 244 duration

Re: Daily Drivers
Been daily driving Rocket for over a year now. Like somebody said above, makes it kinda difficult for only being able to do upgrades on the weekends lol... But all 5 senses love this truck, looks awesome, sounds throaty, smells old, feels like american steel.
Only get about 9mpg average on the carbed 327, but the carb is crap and needs a rebuild and really needs some top end engine tuning.

Re: Daily Drivers
I installed my digital gauges at the end of March and it rolled 10,000 on my way home yesterday. That includes the truck being down for a month while I put the lt1 in.
