Distributor hold down clamp

Does anyone make a (hold down flange) that has some teeth to keep the dang distributor from turning after a couple weeks?
The HEI is too slippery for the chrome flange to keep it secure. If I had a Lathe I would knurl the dang thing...lol

Re: Distributor hold down clamp

Better yet use a big sharp cold chisel and rough it up.
Cut a cross hatch in it.

Use a Triangle File or a Knife file.
Clamp it good and Hand make your own Knurls.

Re: Distributor hold down clamp

Nothing holds better than the original hold down clamp. try to find one from a local salvage yard or Ebay and your troubles will be over.

Re: Distributor hold down clamp

^^^^x2 The cheap chromed pot metal ones they sell at the auto parts stores will flatten out after removing and installing a few times. I found that out the hard way.
