67-72 SBC motor mounts

I am looking for a set of 1967-1972 c10 motor mounts. They must be the ones that use the front or forward set of holes in the frame.

Re: 67-72 SBC motor mounts

They might work flipping sides but they are definitely 2 different stands. V8 will bolt to the 250 I6 stands but it places the engine rearward but will work if you are not going for correct. I6 stand on the left, Small block on the right. A big block might bolt to the other stands but factory they used a different stand. Sand blasted pair in the second picture are 1968-71 Big block and the pair with the clam shells are 1972 big block stands and mounts.

Re: 67-72 SBC motor mounts

I have a set of BB mounts for a '72 but I'm sure the '72 mounts are specific for that year only. Came out of a 2WD. Not sure if there is a difference in 2WD VS 4WD though. They are the same style as the ones in the third picture posted by Todd68Chevy.

They are 72 2wd. Can be used in the 68-72. 4wd stands are different and they never offered a big block in a 67-72 4wd from the factory. If your 72 big block stands are for sale then I am interested depending on price and condition. Thanks.

From my understanding 72 BB is specific to the clamshell style. 1 year big block only, the square bodies went that way. And 2wd vs 4wd is different from 67-91

I'll see if I can get my son to come over and post pics for you.

FWIW, I put a 454 into a '69 K10 and just used the stock SBC (4x4) mounts. Just moved them forward about an 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" to clear distributor if I remember right. Also, moving forward eliminates need to dent rear of valve covers for clearance, IIRC.

Re: 67-72 SBC motor mounts

Did you ever find the engine mounts you were looking for?

If not I have a spare set of 67-71 small block frame mounts and a set of square body clamshell style frame mounts that I had in my 69 C20 before I converted it to 4wd.
