VIN Help

Can someone post the months with corresponding VIN #'s for 1972 GMC pickup? What month was 505015 built for a 1972 GMC pickup?
Thank you!

Re: VIN Help

Which final assembly location?

Each plant counts up independent of the others based on line rate, number of productive shifts, model mix, downtime as a result of breakdowns, strikes, etc.

Re: VIN Help

Also, you should have some sticker somewhere that may nail it down. You have the 5015th truck built at whatever plant is on your VIN.

Negative.

The serial portion of the VIN is assigned sequentially but does not represent build order.

Re: VIN Help

Try and find the original build sheet...it has the assembled date for each build stage handwritten on it...

Thats really the only way
