Re: HVAC Color

Color isn't something I can describe in a post, but I'll point you towards "Hammertone" and the other ones that have a bit of a texture to them. I think the originals were fiberglass so that's the look you're going for, not a totally consistent color.

Re: HVAC Color

What did they paint it with? If it is just spray paint you can often clean it off with lacquer thinner or another solvent. Not sure how paint stripper reacts with the fiberglass underneath. Maybe someone else can chime in. Or you could sand it all off and clearcoat it. Sanding it off would be a hell of a chore though. Too many nooks and cranny's. If you are taking it off the firewall you could look for a replacement.

Re: HVAC Color

It was my screw up honestly, it had been painted and the truck is a frame off resto. I tried to sand it thinking I could just leave it bare, only to find it took all the texture off. I may just have to find another OEM one. I was hoping to make it look ok the way it was.

Re: HVAC Color

Here is a post from a member that seems to be an expert in heater boxes.
