I think they were just going to remake one to have it at the sema show last year paired with with a centennial Silverado

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
It looks like any truck at a cruise-in that is restored to one guys personal taste(not mine) and has lost its originality.

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
do you guys ever think they would re-style the new trucks like the old trucks kinda like ford and dodge did with there muscle cars, there is another thread asking if you'd trade your old ride for a new one and my brain got thinking about this, i'd like to see it happen but would be scared of what the "designers" would come up with

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
How did they come up with doing a '67 I wonder? Seems odd to pick one year off of the 50th year truck. I wish they would have done a shortbed from each body style in the same approach. What a fleet?? Sure, I'd like to see all original examples or all done in period styling affects. I'd say all three and make a permanent museum! And a set of work trucks... and 4wds. Original and...............

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
Just like the pyramids you can't rebuild perfection.
For one we destroyed the earth and got all the good iron. The crap they call steel today isn't worthy of a 67 chevy today. 67 fleet being the best truck ever will never be reproduced.

Something that I MIGHT be able to afford... |

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
Nobody went down to their dealership and put a down payment on one. If 50,000 people had GM would had made it happen. It is all just marketing these days. Throw some idea out there and see if the public responds with their cash. There are no more John Delorean's at GM. Just accounting types worried about their bonus.
Besides have you seen the "New Bronco"? Not even close to what a early Bronco was. And don't even get me started on the new GTO.

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
For crying out loud! What are they thinking? They've turned it into a Lexus! And in my opinion one of the ugliest Lexus' ever made to boot. Let's hope they don't do a retro truck.

The real question remains who made the logos and can I get a few of them.

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
Looks to me like it reflects current trends. Most of these trucks get modified for fun sunday cruisers. I know that there are a lot of members on this site who think that that is ridiculous, but its just the way it is.

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
Do I like it? No. But you have to admire the quality of work. Judging by the offset of the wheels. The front clip, cowl, doors and box were all grafted onto a newer cab. Its amazing work, just not my thing.

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
...I thought that pic of the blue truck was some sort of reference only.....not an actually GM design effort.
Do I have that correct? If that is the truck...then I agree with some of the others, that looks like 37,417 other recent classic trucks at every show'n shine....lowered, shortbed, oversize wheels......ie....the new normal. No disrespect to anyone if that is their particular taste. Simply build/do/drive what you enjoy. If your target is to cause an impression tho'.....after a while its like a version of Dr. Suess's the sneetches (...if anyone remembers that). I'm not sure just what stands out specifically anymore....but just what is custom today, and thus unique.... is not something that is clear to me. All good C.

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
I think they did a great job mimmicking the current trucks in a '67 w/o taking away from the truck itself. A well done retro blend job. I just don't see why it wasn't an almost identical except side markers 50th year '68. I know some people are stuck on '67 only... cleanest year, and all that. But this is not a promotion for that one group.

Re: what happened to the 67 remake
...one thing for sure about it, is that it will undoubtedly be a better driver and general all around vehicle than the original or any of the older trucks...that is for sure.
Its hard to beat the new technology when its highly engineered and brought together as a package. ....I'm wondering what the interior looks like. All good Coley
