Question: In cab - in tank electric fuel pump?
My '65 has the stock in cab tank with a carbureted L31 350 that has no provision for a mechanical fuel pump. Been running a frame mount pump for the last couple years and second unit just bit the dust. Want to do this right once and for all and install a proper in tank pump w/return system. Tanksinc has a couple of options that look good. Anyone here have some suggestions-experience using the stock tank w/ an in tank pump??
Thanks, Steve weim55 Colorado |

Re: Question: In cab - in tank electric fuel pump?
Now that's a good idea! Was wondering how I could fit all that through such a small hole. Problem solved! Any thoughts surrounding the pump itself?
Thanks for the info, Steve weim55 Colorado |

I like the idea of an in tank pump, but I wonder if it will be too noisy inside the cab? Just thinking, but would not want you to do all the work and end up with something unsatisfactory.
Your thoughts? |

You only hear it for a few seconds when you first turn the key on

Re: Question: In cab - in tank electric fuel pump?
I thought about the noise inside the cab too...... The frame mount pump makes a good bit of noise itself and I don't care for it. Assuming the in tank pump will just have the same quiet 'buzz' most late model trucks have and I think I can deal with that. Might just do some dynamat over the outside of the tank if it's too annoying.
