Engine decode?

Can anyone tell me what I have here? I know it's a 305. But wondered if I could get any more info for ordering parts. I looked up the casting # but can't seem to find it. I found 14088 but not 14084? Any help is as always appreciated. The number is 14084766

Re: Engine decode?

Look a little closer.
I think it’s 14094766.
Which makes it found here.
https://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm

If you get the suffix code off the pad in front of the pass side head you’ll narrow it down even more.
Look here.

here: http://www.nastyz28.com/chevy-engine-code-stampings.php
once you get the code off the pad in front, use the three letter suffix and look it up on thi page - links are about 3/4 the way down the page and are grouped into alphabetical links.

Re: Engine decode?

It might be painted over. it is on the front of the block where the head attaches. it sticks out a little.
