What should a "new" cab cost?

I recently rolled my '69 chevy, and the top of the cab got crushed. I want to replace the cab, and I was wondering what I might expect to pay for one. I live in Michigan, and my brother is a truck driver, so he can probably haul one for me if I find one. Thanks in advance.

Here in oregon we can usally get a whole truck for 3-500 dollar's but iit would be rough... I would not pay more than 200 for a cherry cab with good rocker's and cab corner's.

I've seen good AC cabs go from $500-$1000 that are rust and dent free.

FRENCHBLUE72, You should buy all you can find and ship them here. I'm serious. $200.00 won't buy patch panels and labor. I've seen pretty rough cabs here but that is all we have. I would like to find a cherry cab for the 72.

Grants Pass has $500 trucks everywhere. Most are running and are 1/2 ton. Most only have bed damage as the guys that have them use them to haul firewood. Like Frenchblue said, they are basically a dime a dozen. Even the scrap yards have them. The only scarce thing are 72 doors. i have 5 - 67 to 71 doors in awesome shape. Shipping would be killer though. The local Greyhound isnt that friendly. If it was cost effective, I would buy every $500 truck and ship the cabs. i cant see that anyone would make any monet after the shipping costs and labor to strip and transport unless there were several that could be loaded on a flatbed and created up like Wes mentioned in another post.
heck, there is a 72 4x4 in the local paper for $1500 today along with a 70 Longhorn for $2k.. You guys in the east need to rent a 40' flatbed and come on out and clean up. I have a fairly rust free cab that has all good glass that I cant "give away" here.

Locally, a fairly rustfree cab is in the 500 & up price range.

$500 is a fair price, if it is good. Sure, you can get one cheap if you want to replace parts. If you want to get a solid one, expect to pay a little more. I was more concerned with the firewall at the top, since there are no patch panels for this area.

'72 doors have a different window regulator, as well as a screw under the vent window post.

Average price in Northern Nevada is about $100. That's what I paid for the last one I bought. It was totally rust free. It was a complete cab. It had doors, seat, column, instrument panel etc. I guess if you wanted a striped one you could get it cheaper. That's around the Reno area.

CABS HERE GO FOR AROUND $300 W/O A TITLE & AROUND $500 WITH A TITLE. DOORS & FENDERS GO FOR A MINIMUM OF $100 EACH FOR GOOD ONES. I JUST SOLD A RUSTFREE, DENTFREE, SHORT FLEET BED, WITH A TAILGATE , TO A VERY GOOD FREIND OF MINE FOR $200, BUT THAT THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S THE GOING RATE.

$1000 and we don't need no stinking titles! I'll pay $1500 for a dozen of those rust-free titleless cabs. No hacked dashes PLEASE!
