Header selection for an L92 6.2 in a 72 K2500

Looking for some guidance on what headers will fit between the frame rails on my 72 3/4 ton 4wd. I’ve done a pile of research and found a pile of different information out there but nothing conclusive. With the outrageous shipping cost of getting goods up here to Alaska I’m trying to get the right parts the first time.
Long tubes are my first preference but I’ll settle for whatever is sure to fit.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I know some block hugger shortys have been used...but Camaro or TB manifolds may be your best bet,,,
The issues you'll face are trying to dodge the 4x4 parts...I dont think theres any long tubes that will just bolt on with no issues....I've seen some Doug thourghlys..(I think).... that work on the 67-72s but just not sure how they'd work with 4x4....I've used headers on all my swaps and have had to modify them all...

I would suggest checking into headers from Speed Engineering. Nice quality and excellent customer service. believe they have 3 different lengths. I believe you may need aftermarket plug wires with a 45* boot on 3 or 4 plugs. Here is a thread about them.

Re: Header selection for an L92 6.2 in a 72 K2500

I'm running the Schoenfield 1302LS1 long tube headers on my 84 K10, and they fit nice. The only issue I had was the location of the driver 02 sensor. I ended up plugging it an relocating it, which was a pretty easy job. They have them at Summit, so maybe the shipping wouldn't hurt so bad.

Here is the post on my build thread that shows the clearance. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...7&postcount=63
