Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie
Through some digging online I was able to contact the family of the original owner of my 72' C20 Cheyenne. Unfortunately, the original owner passed away but I was able to speak with his grandson who knew all about the truck. The original owner worked for a big name studio in LA and did stunt work and mechanical work on many films. He was able to get the truck in a scene in the movie Corvette Summer with Mark Hamill (better known for his work as Luke Skywalker). Here are some shots of the truck in the movie. Not everyone can say that their 72 Cheyenne pulled Luke Skywalker on a bicycle.

Re: Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie
After all these years I found out the grandson lives a few miles away from me. Definitely going to meet him and let him take his grandfather truck for a spin. Gotta love old Chevys.

Re: Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie
I wasn't planning on selling it, but it does deserve to be with the original family if they wanted it back. After I make some memories with it I would definitely be willing to let it go back to its real home. The grandson helped his grandpa put the 454 in it when he was 10 years old. Amazing story |

Re: Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie
This is too funny, was browsing thru Craigslist just now and came across a replica Corvette Summer car for sale. The only difference is it is left hand drive not right hand drive. Its in Riverside CA and they want 44K for it.

I was hoping you weren't going to say it was in "Groundhog Day"!

Re: Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie
Why is the Vette RH drive? Probably the same reason they did all that goofy body work. Wanted it to be different. I'll take the truck over that Vette any day. If they remake that movie it will probably be changed to either C20 Summer or Vette Bummer

I took driver training at Lane Tech in Chicago in the winter of '65--'66. We moved to LA in '67 and I had to take Driver's Ed all over again, according to the DMV. My new school had a long back list of kids wanting that class. As a late semester transfer, I had no chance. My dad got me lessons from a commercial driving school out of the May Company dept store. The school's car was an AMC 2-door with a center shifter and those cycle chain steering columns.

Re: Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie
I remember seeing dual control drivers ed cars. By the time I took it in '70 we didn't drive those. I drove a normal brand new '70 2dr Chevelle w/350.
