Should also have a shim that goes between the inner fender and the cab

I'm not familiar with those shims. I don't think I've ever seen them. I'll have to look into that. Interesting.

That makes two of us. My truck didn't have these "as required". Makes me wanna get some for the rebuild, just in case they "are required"

Some trucks have them and some don't. Just start the bolt, hook the shim on the bolt and they stay in place while you tighten them up.

Yeah, they have some parts that are kind of elusive. Some never had them, some probably fell out somewhere along the line, and some guys take the bolts out and the shim falls on the floor and they say "Where in the heck did that come from"....

If the inner fender fits tight against the toe board brace you wouldn't need them.

It’s amazing what the big 3 did back then. Like I posted earlier , my 68 had 67 arm rests ? Ford did the same thing , if they were short something . They used what would work.
My 69 mustang was supposed to have the pink resister wire from the ign switch to the coil , nope that wire was red and green. I spent an hour looking for that dam pink wire. My harness was never altered , yet it was wrong . Go figure.

You might read through this thread.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=351185

I haven't read the whole thing so I don't know if it was finished or not but they were working on it hot and heavy for quite a while.

When you're really bored number every other page until you've reached 1064

A few of the members here were good enough to ID every page on a spreadsheet. They did a great job, I have it in Word.
