1957 Clutch & Clutch Pedal Help/Advice

I'm working on my wife's 57 pickup and I would like to convert it to a manual transmission. Right now, I'm using the CPP frame mounted brake system with the pedal bracket, booster and master cylinder. The truck will have 4 wheel disk brakes.

I already have the T5 and clutch disk but am not sure what I would need as far as pedal and linkages. Will stock/original parts work with what I currently have?

Am I better off mounting everything on the firewall and using an under-dash bracket?

I am open to a mechanical or hydraulic clutch.

This is her truck and I want it to be reliable and easy to maintain.

Pictures of current setups would be alot of help.

Thanks to everyone for your advice/assistance in advance.

Re: 1957 Clutch & Clutch Pedal Help/Advice

Based on the original posters ....T5 transmission, 4-wheel disc brakes.... I would hazard a guess that this truck is no longer stock and will require all aftermarket parts. The stock clutch pedal may be re-usable, but I am outside my knowledge base on how to get a stock clutch pedal to work with a T5 transmission. Perhaps a member with experience making a resto-mod will reply.

Hello LDO. Just a couple of pictures showing what the stock parts look like. This is with a stock bellhousing in the stock location. Also using the T-5
transmission. This is all I can offer you. Good luck.

I do not have a bellhousing as of yet. I would assume a stock bellhousing for a SBC.

I am missing the clutch pedal frame bracket. All I have is a hole in my frame.
