Battery???

Hi,

When I got my 72 Jimmy the battery was weak. I bought a new battery at AutoZone using their computers recommendation for size. While the battery worked well, it didn't work well with the mounting plate that holds the base of the battery down into the battery tray. I ended up winding a strap around the battery box and the battery.

Now that the car is getting done and fully restored I want to get a battery that locks in place using the original mount in the base of the battery box.

So what group size battery do I buy that mounts well to the battery box? Any recommendations?

Re: Battery???

I have an optima red top in mine. They come with adapters for different trays.

I got the optima red top, none of the adapters that came with the battery worked... Maybe I got the wrong one?

Re: Battery???

Strange I’ll have to check mine out but it had a plastic adapter that goes under the original mount. I’ll get a picture.

Re: Battery???

There’s another puck adapter you can use as well but this worked for me.
