Adding 72 door panels to 67-71 doors questions
For those who have Done this I have a few questions. Can I use the existing holes where the metal panel bolts in as pilot holes for making the bigger holes for the clips on the 72 panel? Also what size holes are needed for the clips and does anyone know where clips that work properly are available? Thanks in advance.

No answers but my understanding is the 72 window regulators and maybe the door handle spline thing stick out farther than earlier years. I'm not positive though.

Yes they do stick out further. You have to change out the whole window regulator and door handle mechanism.

Yes I have those things already I'm just concerned about getting the panel mounting holes in the correct locations in the door.

Re: Adding 72 door panels to 67-71 doors questions
I did this many years back, and if I remember correctly I drilled out the existing threaded holes for the older metal panels to accommodate the plastic push in mounts for the 72 panels. I don't remember the size drill, I most likely did it by trial and error. I do believe theses doors are still on my old rusted out truck in the yard, and could take a look at them this weekend if you need.

I did this years ago also but pretty sure I found a plastic clip that had smaller diameter stud,so I never drilled threaded holes in bottom of the door. Check at automotive paint store for clip selection.

Can anyone tell me what exact size drill bit I need to drill these holes to factory size for the clips to mount the panel properly please?

Re: Adding 72 door panels to 67-71 doors questions
They're just a touch over 1/4", so 1/4" should work.
