Side marker bezels
The stainless trim on my side marker lenses keeps falling off. They are aftermarket and I have tried regluing with gorilla gel super glue but it only lasted about a year.
Thinking I need something with a bit of flex to account for the expanding/contracting of the stainless trim. Any suggestions? |

Re: Side marker bezels
You are on the right track. You need to thoroughly clean the old glue residue from the backside of the bezel then run a thin bead of clear RTV the length of the bezel in the channels you just cleaned, then lightly press it on and secure with painters tape until it dries good. It worked well for me.

Re: Side marker bezels
Got the same problem.....What did you use to clean off the old glue?
You have to use what you have. I used a very small flat blade screwdriver to get the big stuff then finished it up with a small wire brush. You could use the red or green scotch brite too. The more residue you remove, the more room for the RTV you have. |
