Ball Joint Taper
Got a 66 C10 and want to know what the taper is on these ball joints Upper and lower.
I have a 7 degree reamer and don't know if that will work for both upper and lower? Will it work for the steering joints too? |

Re: Ball Joint Taper
What are you trying to do? What do you need to ream?

Re: Ball Joint Taper
I increased the taper on my spindles to accept larger tie rods (73-87) since the rest of my suspension was 73+ and my spindles were 67-70. I cant speak for all the different years and suspension components but my setup was a 7 degree taper. There's some math involved to figure the degrees of taper so don't quote me on it being 7 degrees since I could have totally done the math wrong.. In the end I took it to a machine shop since my tapered bit was chattering when I tried to do it.
