1964 LS Swap wiring

I have a 1964 c10 i have swapped to a 6.0/4l80e. I need recommendations on where to get 12vdc in Run and Crank. I tried the posts at the fuse panel, but seemed like they were 12vdc at all times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1964 LS Swap wiring

Welcome...
All you need is constant 12v and switch on 12v..the constant 12v can be pulled from hot side of your switch, battery,or any 12v power source...for the switch on 12v I used the power source going to the distributor

Re: 1964 LS Swap wiring

Thank you.

So the pink wire that went to distributor for HEI or yellow for coil should give me a switched 12v source then?

Re: 1964 LS Swap wiring

So I only have a two post starter doesnt have the R terminal. Tried putting it on the same terminal with purple but that makes it try to crank in on position.

Re: 1964 LS Swap wiring

Is it possible to use the Brn/wht from the accessory on ignition switch? I am not using the wiring to alternator since the ls harness has it built in.

Re: 1964 LS Swap wiring

what are you trying to hook up?....the same wires that would crank over your old engine will crank over your LS....all those do is run the starter when the key is turned to crank...im not to familiar with 64 wiring

Re: 1964 LS Swap wiring

The harness has a pink/blk that needs 12v at run and crank for the Fuel pump relay.

Re: 1964 LS Swap wiring

The truck harness is OEM, the LS Swap harness is store bought from BP Automotive. I think i found terminals on fuse block that work though.
