72 door panels?

So I just bought a set of repro 72 door panels for my 70. I’m having trouble finding the "stock" earlier chrome that people are using to make inserts. What’s it called, what’s it from, and where can I get some? Below are a few examples of the look I’d like to replicate.

Re: 72 door panels?

Those came on higher optioned trucks in 1972. As far as I know the wood grain insert is reproduced but the polished trim is not. Best bet is to find some on the parts board.

Re: 72 door panels?

From what I have learned, you cannot install factory trim on any 72 repop door panels.... bummer, I know. If you learn otherwise please post your findings because I wanted to do the same thing.

Re: 72 door panels?

The panels LMC came out with first I would call replacement parts, not reproductions. Very similar at best, not replicas. But from what I've seen there are now reproductions made and I believe the word is the trim and panels fit. I could be wrong, but IIRC... So, if you got they recent parts you just need to find some used trim
