Tried searching this but with a 5.3 / th350/ 205 in stock location (trans and transfer case havent moved) will a set of hooker exhaust manifolds fit without modifications?

Re: Ls swap with hooker manifolds

I have them in my swap but I have a 4l80 with the engine set forward. I have plenty of clearance. They look like they were made for it. I would think closer to stock they would fit even better based on how the frame tapers on mine. They set real close to the block for clearance.

Re: Ls swap with hooker manifolds

So I was under the impression that you cannot put a 5.3 in stock V8 4x4 location with a turbo 350 because heads will hit firewall. By the looks of this thread that’s false!? I’m at a spot now trying to decide if 4l80/advance adapters/tcase mods are worth it. I’m guessing no... thanks and sorry for the hijack! Looks like I’ll use these manifolds too.

Re: Ls swap with hooker manifolds

I’m not sure if it would fit in the stock location since I went with the 4l80e. The 4l60e should handle the 5.3l. I went with the 4l80 due to the power of the ls3.
