I watched that video a couple days ago myself! He sure marches at the beat of his own drum, but I thought he's entertaining for sure. Funny to boot.

Pretty cool. I got to where he was looking under the hood. He didn't know about the upper radiator pipe. I didn't think 3.73 gears were available in GM Dana 60s. I wonder what's up there. I also wonder about the Custom door badge on passenger side. Cool truck

Re: Farm Find K20 Rescue After 16 Years

now that I can relate to.. ya'll from the country probably had a fella like this around..

ours was Harold, god rest his soul, he was this guy reincarnate!

even watched the episode 27 a little bit, has more of the k20.. he's a character for sure..

btw, the D60 is available with 3.73 among about a dozen ratios from 3.31 to 7.17 depending on carrier..

and although he was reading that info off the SPID, the posi doesn't seem to be working in the one-legged burnout

cheers!

Apparently not enough weight reduction before getting stuck!

What a character.

Thanks for the video link,

Thanks for my entertainment for the evening Grumpy! I'm gonna do my best to incorporate some Visegrip Garage lingo into my daily mumblings... here are my favorites.

1. Well I'll be dipped!
2. "give her some onions...feed her some coal"
3. "fix on it"
4. "test on it"
5. "Sometimes a guys gotta coax on em' to get er' hot"

He was entertaining but I would have tested 4 wheel drive before going in the mud. But I'll be dipped...

I bought my GMC 2500 from the original owner and it had a Dana 60 3.73 (open). I doubt that the guy bought the truck and then changed the rear. I realize it's not listed as an option so I don't know how he got this.

Re: Farm Find K20 Rescue After 16 Years

really liking VGG on instagram now too

and since we were discussing the factory options, I emailed Derek and asked him for the SPID..

well there it is, nice options!

and if I'm reading it right, should be;

C 2wd
M V-6 gas
1 1/2 ton [but 8 lugs on the truck?]
OD wideside
S St. Louis
A 1968

apologies for the large image size but otherwise difficult to read..

and I thought I had GMC around here somewhere but can only find my Chevrolet book..

GMC axles same or similar to Chevrolet or completely different? I don't know but here's what I have..

Are you hard core Chevy guys really going to let him get away with having Ford dials on his front hubs?

GMC’s used Red a year or two around ‘70. They don’t have Ford on the dials.

Re: Farm Find K20 Rescue After 16 Years

I thought the Saddle pickup in the video was a K/2500 with a V8 350.
The SPID shown is for a C/1500 with a V6.

Seriously! The Red Green Show has been a staple for entertainment in my house for years. Between Red and his nephew Harold, it's a guaranteed laugh.
