Re: a/c vacuum metal can

Thanks guys, this one is on a 71 Blazer. I like to keep all original as much as possible. Pros or cons on metal vs plastic ?

Re: a/c vacuum metal can

Good question. All I can say is my OEM plastic one isn't cracked or broken, which I think is pretty amazing considering underhood heat and the way I have inadvertently leaned against it while working on stuff. Probably just comes down to which you prefer. Oh one other thing which doesn't actually matter, I remember seeing metal can types on some older Ford trucks.

The pro for me is that the metal "army rations" looking can looks so old and cool, I just couldn't see swapping it out for the newer model

Re: a/c vacuum metal can

The metal can had been replaced with a plastic one which was broken. I could not find a metal can, had to buy the plastic one. Also had to repair the side of the box assembly as the vacuum canister had ripped out the side of the box at some point.
