Is the starter motor supposed to have the support bracket on a '68 BBC C20?
My Chevelle has it, Truck doesn't, just wondering..

Re: Starter motor bracket
Those things usually got tossed the first time a starter got replaced. They are a pain to remove and install. I don't have one, but that is because I replaced the 100-pound original with a reduction gear starter.

Re: Starter motor bracket
I was in the same boat I like factory starts. But the day I put a reduction gear starter. Man there so Nice. It makes starting up my truck so easy in the morning 2 seconds and it's running Go to auto Zone Pay it once for 252.00 and you will never pay it again Lifetime warranty. They make life so much Better

Re: Starter motor bracket
all the starters with a strait bolt pattern came with them to keep the starter from moving with the torque and keeping from wrecking the teeth on the flywheel and starter or breaking bolts in theory anyway . I have seen them break and wreck gears but its usually because someone put a high torque starter from a vette on a super high compression hotrod and or they didn't tighten the bolts down properly or possibly a back fire while starting
