Looking for new shocks. Do I still need these?

So I’m looking for new shocks. Probably some Monroe shocks. Always had good luck with them and the price is good. But my question is will I still need to use those rubber pieces? Mine are chewed up and dried out and I haven’t come across them when I’ve been looking for other parts.

New ones hopefully come with them or a pressed in bushing. That style of bushing should be in the box with the shocks if the shocks need them though.

Those bushings are available aftermarket as well. I have replaced mine twice while retaining the shocks.

NAPA has them. I searched "shock bushing" for a '55 3100, on their site and found this. They say they're just for the front. Your mileage may vary.

https://www.napaonline.com/en/search...Qualified=true

They're proud of 'em. A nickel part for only $3.69.

They're also available through Dorman / Help line. I can't remember the part number but they were in stock at Advance Auto.

Also available thru Rock Auto but still over $3.00 ea. plus shipping. I'd see what the shocks come with first.

Ok. Thank you. I don’t see them in the pictures or listed in any descriptions so I wondered if they were even needed anymore

Re: Looking for new shocks. Do I still need these?

tf trucks take this type shock front and rear, they come with rubber on them
if you've modified your truck height, download the monroe catalog to see all the options available
jack the truck up to see the extended length and then figure the lower height by figuring out the bumpstop height
then look at the monroe catalog to see what shock you need
i flipped my axle on stock springs with stock brackets, found my shocks this way

Ok thank you. I didn’t change my height. Kept it stock except changing the rearend to a limited slip out of a 76 trans am. Which isn’t changing the height any
