Wood bed replacement

It seems like I read an article a while back about someone installing their wood floor by eliminating the 8 bolts thru the wood. They did this by either welding a nut or a bolt on the bottom of the mounting rails where the bolts go through. Anyone on here tried this, if so how do you like it?

Here's an old thread on Mar-k selling the "hidden bolt cross sills " When GR8-68 made the bed wood for my trucks he left off drilling the thru bolt holes so I could use the hidden bolt mod , Ash and Black Walnut
