What did you get done to your truck this weekend? 8/4/19 edition

A while back we had this on this board and it was kinda a way for us to all connect and share our progress on these trucks we all love so dearly.. It died off after a while and I decided to bring it back again and see how it goes. If you want post photos and the stories of your weekend adventures, repairs, restoration, or whatever involving your squarebodies...

So Friday I drove out to one of the members here and picked up a newer inner fender well for the bed of the 76 . Today when I finally had a moment I took my old rotted one out and had to get out about three completely rusted bolts out of the bed and surprisingly it was not as rusted as I feared along the bed floor.
My son showed up and we planned for possibly next week doing his left rocker and cab corner on his 87.
the rest of the day was spent trying to get my nephews ram charger running and my son in laws brakes done in his E350

Re: What did you get done to your truck this weekend? 8/4/19 edition

I finished up the installation/swap from the OE rag-joint/collapsible shaft set-up to the Jeep/Cherokee XJ u-joint/collapsible shaft.

I noticed while I was in there that my driver side brake line was leaking/seeping @ the caliper. It appears to have made hard contact w/the x-member when @ full lock on the steering. I researched brake line options & found there were 2 different p/n's for HD trucks. Mine had the wrong one's which technically fit fine but could put the hard-line under the x-member in certain situations. Not an issue for a stocker but definitely a concern for a bagged truck. I purchased the 'correct' lines & after mild tweaks feel much more comfortable there won't be future issues.

I also replaced the outer upper bag plate bolts on both sides. Because of the leaks & dirt build-up on the driver side, I could see the bag was barely contacting the bolt head when collapsed. I swapped in some button head bolts to minimize the possibility of contact.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Got the TH400 pulled, new flywheel, clutch, bellhousing installed. Stabbed the NV4500. Installed pedal box (well, box in, now just need to reinstall steering column).

Slowly getting the engine back in and together for the 81. Keep running into little hick-ups and waiting on some more parts
